Marriage Commitment by License and Love

When my wife and I got married in 1960 we made a commitment to one another that was sealed by a legal contract—we call it a marriage license. But as the years go by, we don’t maintain that commitment to one another because of a contract. We remain committed because of the love that has grown out of our commitment. That license now is a keepsake instead of a contract. If you view your commitment to Christ as something that forces you to wait patiently while God does His thing—you will eventually give up and walk away. (Lou Nicholes - Missionary/Author).
