Responsibility to Fix What You Damage

One hot summer day when we were living in Ohio a wasp got into the house and was flying around. At that time we lived in a new brick home with a big picture window in the front. Our oldest son Steve decided to go after it with a baseball glove. He was throwing the glove trying to hit it but missing his target. I warned him that if he kept it up he was going to break something. Almost as soon as I got the words out of my mouth we heard a big crash as the baseball glove sailed through the window. Since the window was a large one and the glass was double pane it was expensive and a project too big for me to tackle. I told him that since he was the one who broke it, it was his responsibility to get it fixed. He had to make the arrangement to get it fixed and pay for it out of his own hard earned money; not an easy lesson in restitution. (Lou Nicholes - Missionary/Author).
