We Will be Judged For What We do in The Body
Proverbs 30:18–23
» View this passage in NIV (Bible Gateway)
“Do not have your concert first, then tune your instrument afterwards. Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all in harmony with Him.” (Source Unknown). … More
Such is the way of an adulterous woman (v. 20). Hardened in her conscience, she lives in her sin and boldly says, “I have done no wickedness.” She treats it as lightly as if she had eaten a meal and wiped her mouth. It is often excused as if it were something which is normal and for which men are not accountable. But God has declared He will “bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or evil” (Eccles. 12:14).
Harmony is accomplished only when people maintain their proper roles and do not assume positions they are not supposed to be handling (vv. 21-23).
Application
We need to remember that God sees everything that we do and every one of us will be judged for the things done in this body. He made me and knows what my gifts and abilities are. Lord, help me to never fail you.
Proverbs 30:18-23 (English Standard Version)
Three things are too wonderful for me; four I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a virgin. This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, "I have done no wrong." Under three things the earth trembles; under four it cannot bear up: a slave when he becomes king, and a fool when he is filled with food; an unloved woman when she gets a husband, and a maidservant when she displaces her mistress.
