Death is Real at Any Age

At six years of age one of my closest friends, invited me to go to the river with him to play. I asked my mother if I could go and she said no A few hours later we learned that he had drowned. When I was 16 I was invited to ride to the stock car races with one of my closest friends. I had another ride to the tracks but I told him I would ride home with him. On the way to the track he hit a semi-truck head on and was killed. In high school I played on a basketball team with a terrific ball player. One game he said he had a very bad headache and two days later when I went to school some class mates greeted me with the news that he died with a blood clot on the brain. A few days later I was a pallbearer at his funeral. Hebrews 9:27 says “It is appointed unto man once to die” and all of us have that appointment some day, and we don’t know at what age.
