Worship

1.   The sons of Levi (vv. 1-30).

This list clearly defines the priests and Levites line of descent. It has been said that the genealogy of Levi is given more amply and completely here than in any other place.

      2.   The temple musicians (vv. 31-49).

After King David had the sacred chest moved to Jerusalem, he appointed musicians from the tribe of Levi to be charge of the music. This is a list of their family lines.

      3.   The descendants of Aaron (vv. 50-70).

Only Aaron and his descendants were allowed to offer sacrifice on the altars at the sacred tent. This was just as God’s servant Moses had commanded.

      4.   The Gershonites (vv. 71-81).

The remainder of this chapter makes up the Gershonite clan which takes in several towns and cities of East Manasseh and in Bashan and Ashtaroth including pastureland around them.

Application

Worship is a big part of Church services today which many people think is when you are singing. In fact, many churches have what they call a “Worship Leader.” The style of music in the Church depends a lot on the preference of the Worship Leader. To me worship is not just when I sing but is what attitude I have toward the Lord in all that I do.
