“First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.” (Source Unknown) … More

Organization

1.   David assigns Army Commanders (vv. 1-15)

Each month a group of 24,000 men served as soldiers in Israel’s army. These men included family leaders, army commanders, and officials of the king, under the command of specified leaders, arranged by the month of their service.

2.   David assigns Tribal Leaders (vv. 16-24)

David chose leaders from each tribe in Israel. When David decided to count the people of Israel, he gave orders not to count anyone under 20 years of age, because the Lord had promised long ago that Israel would have as many people as there are stars in the sky.

 3.   Officials in charge of the King’s Property (vv. 25-31)

Someone was put in charge of the storerooms. Someone was put in charge of the workers who farmed the king’s land. A person was put in charge of the vineyards and storing the wine. Another person was put in charge of the olive and sycamore trees. Also, someone was responsible for the cattle, another for the camels, another for the donkeys and another for the sheep and goats.

4.   David’s personal Advisors. (vv. 32-34)

David’s uncle Jonathan was a wise and trusted advisor and trained David’ sons. Ahithophel was the king’s counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend. Jehoiada also advised the king. Joab was commander of Israel’s army.

Application

Good organization is a great asset for any ministry that does great exploits for God. I am thankful that God has given me a gift of organization and I want to always use it for His glory.
